Hospital & Location
The Hospital serves those who are preparing to travel together with returned travellers, immigrants and refugee populations. It also provides the
clinical infectious disease service for UCL Hospitals NHS Trust and houses the National Travel Health
Network and Centre (www.NaTHNaC.org).
The Hospital has a specialist staff of consultants who specialise in many
different aspects of tropical medicine, which include, parasitology, malaria, leprosy,
ophthalmology, dermatology and gut-infections. The Hospital accepts
direct referrals from general practitioners or referrals and transfers from other
hospitals, the Hospital also has an emergency self-referral service for certain
conditions. (see emergency admissions)

The Hospital is unable to give specific advice to members of the general public
over the telephone or via the website. Healthcare professionals who wish to speak
to a doctor about a patient with a potential tropical disease, emergency admission
or urgent referrals should contact the University College London Hospital switchboard
on 0845 1555000 and ask to be put through to the on-call tropical medicine registrar
(24 hour service).

Travelling by Public Transport
The Hospital is located between Tottenham Court Road and Gower Street
which run North to South on either side of the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, and
the Euston Road which runs East to West on the northern side of the Hospital.
By Bus
From 20 April 2019, bus stops changed as a result of the West End Project. Southbound buses will move from Gower Street to Tottenham Court Road.
Buses 14, 24, 73, 134 and 390 will serve Tottenham Court Road north and southbound. The 73 (toward Oxford Circus) and the 390 (to Victoria) will stop outside University College Hospital on Euston Road.
